This product has been renewed as of January 2026, with changes to both the content volume and packaging.
In addition to the standard Wacca washi paper, a new “Light / Ultra-Thin” type has been introduced, maintaining the original paper texture while focusing on handwritten use.
Thanks to its translucency, guides or reference sheets placed underneath can be seen clearly, making it ideal for creative work such as kana calligraphy, penmanship practice, and calligraphy. This paper features the distinctive transparency unique to washi—something not found in Western paper—combined with ease of use across a wide range of writing tools.
Writing performance:
An anti-bleed treatment allows writing with fountain pen ink, glass pens, and sumi ink. Despite its ultra-thin weight, the paper resists show-through and allows ink to dry quickly. Its translucency also makes it suitable for practice with guide lines or reference sheets placed underneath.
Printing:
Due to its ultra-thin nature, printing compatibility is lower than that of the standard type, and handwritten use is recommended. When printing, printer compatibility may vary by model, so test printing and manual feed are advised.
Recommended uses include kana calligraphy and calligraphy practice, penmanship and guided writing practice, drafting artwork, and handwritten menus or greeting cards.
